So if we want to build wealth and steward it, we need to be focused on the ways we can redeem the culture and divinely transfer our wealth from this life into heaven by faithfully serving the Lord. C. T. Studd summarized this point so beautifully when he stated, “Only one life, ’twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.”

If we are serious about laying up treasure in heaven, we must be those who fight to redeem our culture and fulfill the gospel call in all of its implications. As one theologian says, “The goal of the gospel is not to transport disembodied souls to heaven but to redeem man in his totality and all creation from sin and its effects.” If we want to build and steward our wealth, we must do all we can to maximize our wealth in heaven for eternity. We must abandon all worldviews that leave us living under the sun and put the triune God back into all of life and take seriously the words of the Lord in the Great Commission.”
